A national hero in Angola, he went to Brazil, working closely with Djavan and Chico Buarqu, and then made his mark across the world recording for David Byrne's label Luaka Bop in what he calls his "Afropean" style. He takes influences from many cultures and makes them his own resulting in music of immense power.

In February 2008 comedian Richard Herring star of Fist of Fun, TWTTIN and Hitler Moustache joined forces with esteemed broadcaster Andrew Collins from 6Music and I love 1983 to create this unlikely but electric and cult double act. It's one hour, six minutes and 35 seconds (a time set because that is when their software chooses to end the recording) of completely improvised banter, bickering and homoerotic tension which is sometimes funny, sometimes offensive, sometimes illuminating and sometimes just awful rubbish. The live show includes bonus 45 minutes of stand up that won't be available to download on the podcast.

City Limitless features a specially commissioned film based on Kerouac's journey across the States, filmed on location by David McCormick. City Limitless scratches under the skin of what it was to live at the heart of the beat scene.
