Aristophanes' Peace and Frogs
Presented by the Schools of Hackney and The Iris Project.
These performances are part of an ancient theatre initiative in East London schools run by The Iris Project, which is an educational charity promoting access to Classics in inner city schools. Children in year six have experienced a series of workshops introducing them to ancient theatre, attended a performance of an ancient Greek comedy, and are now staging a double bill of ancient Greek comedy themselves. The initiative is run by Lorna Robinson and Graham Kirby from the Iris Project, and assisted by student helpers from UCL. Bloomsbury Theatre and UCL have provided sponsorship for this event.
