Show of Hands
Witness Tour with special guest Martyn Joseph.
UK award-winning acoustic duo Show of Hands, Steve Knightley & Phil Beer, make a welcome third visit to The UCL Bloomsbury Theatre.
The Devon-based duo - voted Best Live Act in the 2004 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards – will be showcasing material from their innovative new studio album Witness (produced by Grammy-nominated Simon Emmerson and 'Mass' of Afro Celts). A new take on the genre-defying Show of Hands sound, it contains some of Knightley's finest songs and astonishing fiddle, guitar and mandolin playing from the intuitive Beer.
"Knightley and Phil Beer champion a counterculture. With scant mainstream media exposure, they have built a mighty, word-of-mouth following that fills venues from Northern arts centres to the Albert Hall."
Colin Randall, Telegraph
Joining them on stage will be talented young double bass player and vocalist Miranda Sykes.
Plus Special Guest Martyn Joseph - the acclaimed singer-songwriter voted Best Male Artist in the 2004 BBC Welsh Music Awards.
"One of the most charismatic and electrifying performers in Britain today"
Tom Robinson, BBC6
