A Doll's House
UCL Union Drama Society in association with UCLU Stage Crew present Henrik Ibsen's 'A Doll's House' An Amateur production from the translation by Michael Meyer.
Shutting out her stifling life and marriage with false bravado and a little girl attitude, Nora’s apparently perfect world threatens to disintegrate when a person she had nearly forgotten about arrive at her door...
Ever since the premier performance in 1878, A Doll’s House continues to arouse audiences with its striking insights into the roles of women and marriage. Displaying Ibsen’s genius for realistic prose, it is a classic expression of women’s rights. Although a late-nineteenth century play, the vivid characters are timeless in their struggle for their place in society making A Doll’s House one of the most enduring plays in modern drama.
This new adaptation by UCL Union Drama Society moves the setting setting from the Victorian era to 1950s America, addressing the perpetual questions of duty to family and society.
