UCL Union Drama Society and UCLU Stage Crew Society present an amateur production of THE RECRUITER - AN ESPIONAGE THRILLER

The recruiterAt the stroke of New Year's 2008, Red Faction extremists (an offshoot of Al-Qaeda) forced control over the 17th Floor of the SAMTEC oil company headquarters in Houston and took five hostages. The ensuing siege was a disaster; two hostages were killed, the building blew up and police negotiator John Truman was found the following day, having committed suicide in a lonely back alley.

The play centres around the week following the Red Faction incident. Unable to accept the harsh truth about his partner's suicide, Detective Charles Kirkmoore, along with his journalist friend Samantha Riley and rookie cop Hale, re-open the case into Truman’s death - a decision which will ultimately begin to reveal one of the most heinous cover-ups in American history.

The investigation immerses the trio into the Red Faction terrorist circle, SAMTEC’s shady history and deep into the murky Houston underworld. The corruption leads to the highest levels. The closer Kirkmoore gets to the truth, it’s not only his job that’s in danger, it’s his life.

But the solution lies with one lead that keeps coming up: A name. A mysterious character who seems to be connected to everything, known only as...The Recruiter.

UCL Union Drama Society is proud to present this original play from award winning Director, Daniel Grant. This fast paced espionage thriller aims to blow the audience away (literally at some points!) with a show, the likes of which you will have never seen before.
