As Is

The Los Angeles based exiled actor/comedian Ali Fakhredin has for the past 20 years been using humour to depict the religious rule in Iran.

In his latest show 'As Is' he once again puts on the turban and robe playing a mullah named "Hajji", sent by the Ayatollahs to Los Angeles to spy on America. But Hajji is also a man of secret desire for high-tech gadgets, rock 'n' roll and young women.

Ali Fakhredin also known as Ali Dean was referred to as "An Iranian Satirist" by The New York Times Magazine. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild in America and has played in over 200 productions.

Very popular amongst the Iranian community, he uses humour to address not just political issues but also cultural complications of some of the 6 million people who have fled Iran and settled in the West since the revolution of 1979.

London will be his first stop of his European tour and the show is done in Farsi.
