A Date With Destiny
When Charlene Gordon and Jaida Gomes were asked what they thought of the level of gun/knife crime in London, and young peoples behaviour in general, their response was that much is being done to prevent this rapid growing crime but little is being done to steer the weapons in the right direction.
Picture this! A well-trained and praised soldier goes out to war. On the battlefield he is well aware of his enemy, He reacts fast, and skilfully loads his gun. He aims perfectly and intentionally pulls the trigger only that he didn’t realize that the gun was pointing at him. The drift is that much is being done but most of which is not hitting the target. The information that has been collected to battle this crime is inadequately measured, and poorly revised. As a result our weapons are left pointing at the fruit of the problem leaving out the most important thing, which is finding out the root of the problem.
A Date with Destiny explores the decisions made by a young lady who is both encouraged and discouraged by super natural powers. She is determined to stay young, to obey only her rules and most certainly not to be the least popular! "She has something to prove." This fairy tale experience lives with her for a while until she realizes that Mother Earth won’t let her stay young forever. This theatrical production takes you deep in to the inner cities of London strongly exploring a world that claims to be independent but yet experiences super natural moments. Who’s controlling your destiny? Watch how stepping stones and AL Bigger unravel this mystery.
