Aristophanes' Frogs
UCL Greek and Latin Department present an amateur production of Aristophanes' Frogs.
The story follows Dionysus, the outrageously entertaining god of wine, and his slave on their eventful journey to The Underworld to bring back the dead poet Euripides.
The brand new script, translated and adapted by a UCL Classicist aims to make the comedy of Aristophanes accessible to a modern audience.
By maintaining the timeless comic elements of a wonderful play and also by contemporising key socio-political references present throughout the original, this exciting new production allows Aristophanes' original comic intentions to have the desired riotous effect and makes sure none of his jokes are wasted.
Hilarious from start to finish, this version of Frogs is a comedy for everyone.
