This is an evening of unique and absorbing Mancunian humour by two of its most enduring and original protagonists.

It's not to be missed, you will spend the evening laughing, that's it!

John Cooper Clarke is the Bard of Salford. The unique rapid fire delivery of his poems, alongside razor sharp gags and tales of the absurd or just hilarious, have created a live career lasting over 30 years. He first toured with Be-Bop Deluxe on their 1977 U.K. tour and has never looked back. During the punk era he provided perfect show support for Buzzcocks, Joy Divison, The Fall and many others. Earning him the mantle of  the "Punk poet". In reality his poems were a mixture of gritty northern realism mixed with an original humour that can't be emulated.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, with a major record deal under his belt, John enjoyed chart success with the single Gimmix! Play Loud, and the subsequent album Snap, Crackle & Bop. Both Produced by the legendary Martin Hannett. His collection of verses 10 years In an Open Neck shirt is a constant poetry best seller and, of course, he was the honey monster in The Sugar Puff ads for many years. His albums continue to sell, with a recent Best Of once agin putting him back in the charts. Surely a record for a poet, or is it a poet for a record?

More recently he has been sited by many young bands as a massive influence on their own lyrics and style. The Arctic Monkeys recently devoting a whole TV programme to their love of JCC, and many others siting him as a major influence.

His recent career has seen many legendary appearances at UK festivals; The Big Chill, Castle Stage, most famously in 2009; where a standing ovation from ten thousand fans led JCC to feel truly humbled.  A headliner at the first Latitude in 2006 also holds good memories for the now veteran performer. He regularly appears at literature and comedy festivals and still continuously tours theatres throughout the world.

His current set features an abundance of new material as well as the old favourites, such as Beasley Street and I Married A Monster from Outer Space.
