The Technicians at the Bloomsbury Theatre have a wealth of experience from working individually in a wide range of theatres throughout the country. Our team consists of a Technical Manager, a Senior Technician and two Technicians. We feel the major selling point of the theatre is the flexibility of the space, with two motorised fore-stages, offering extra stage depth or orchestra pit facilities. A list of our technical specifications and stage plans are available on this site, and we are always happy to discuss the technical requirements for your event.

Contracts include use of all resident technical equipment*. We have a comprehensive stock of lighting equipment, a basic theatre sound reproduction/playback system and full, counterweight flying over the main stage. We also offer scenery workshop facilities adjacent to the main stage. (*Additional charges apply to use of some equipment.)

Generally, we provide 2 technicians to work with you throughout the day (only 1 can be involved in the operation of your event). A Stage Door person will also be on hand to vet all performers and visitors for a pre-agreed number of hours. Additional technical staff will be needed if you require use of follow spots, mixer desk or are flying scenery.

Please note clauses relating to missed meal breaks and overtime for technical staff in your contract.
