The Talking Brain

This event has now ended. It took place on the 11 Mar 2008.

Why do we sound the way we do?

Prof Sophie Scott, a neuroscientist at UCL, and Duncan Wisbey, an impressionist and voice artist (Alistair McGowan's Big Impression, Dirty Fan Male) discuss their perspectives on the human voice, from how our voices are perceived and produced, to how an artist can change their voice to make themselves sound older, or taller, or like someone else altogether.

This event is part of Brain Awareness Week and National Science and Engineering Week.

Admission is free but registration is essential, and operates on a first come first served basis. To register, please email rosalyn.lawrence@ucl.ac.uk.
